Precautions to be taken for Rudrakshas

There is a strong belief that precious and semiprecious
stones have positive energies to overcome the malefic effects of planets on
human being. Precious and semiprecious stones are therefore used in variety of
ornaments since ages. It is also believed that Rudraksha beads also has
positive energy to overcome the effects of planets on human being. In a similar
fashion of recommendation of precious and semiprecious stones, Rudraksha beads
are also recommended, based on Janma-Nakshatra, Zodiac sign and Ruling planet.
There is a strong belief that, precious and semiprecious stones if not found
found suitable, may cause serious damage to its wearer. However, as per the
experience Rudraksha does not cause any such damage to its wearer or possessor.
As per yogic practices, it is believed that there are total
108 'Yogic Chakras' in human body of which seven are most important. Excellent
harmony or balance among these 108 'Yogic Chakras' has direct effect to
maintain excellent mental and physical health. Rudraksha wearing due to its
positive energies play an important rudraksha to maintain this balance among
these 'Yogic Chakras' resulting in excellent mental and physical health. This
could be the reason, why Rudraksha are treated as having anti-aging properties
leading to long healthy life.
Rudraksha is a natural fruit of the plant genus Elaeocarpus ( Family : Elaeocarpaceae).
Rudraksha beads are precious and rare in its occurrence, and need proper care
for protection. Rudraksha being a botanical or plant material are likely to get
damaged if proper care is not taken. In absence of proper care, Rudraksha beads are bound to get spoiled by
fungi or insect attack. Rudraksha beads from four to six mukhi are sturdy and
need little care. Other lower mukhi beads and all higher mukhi beads from seven
mukhi onwards require proper care. Do not wear Rudraksha while taking bath. If
it is advised to wear Rudraksha while taking bath, then use Rudraksha from four
mukhi to six mukhi. Rudraksha beads absorb large quantity of water very fast
and if it is not properly dried get spoiled by insects/fungi. If you perform
puja of your precious Rudraksha beads, simply wipe your beads with moist cloth
and dry it immediately. Do not apply Haldi or Kumkum or Sandal wood paste to
your precious Rudraksha. Apply thin coat of any natural perfume in oil
form. Do not use synthetic perfumes for
puja purpose. Rudraksha beads have very minute natural fissures. Do not wash
your precious Rudraksha with hot water, this may widen these fissures to
develop major cracks. Monthly once wash your beads with luke warm water and
soft soap with soft tooth brush.Dry your beads immediately and if possible keep
these in a strong Sunlight for few hours. Keep such cleaned Rudraksha in any
natural edible oil for at least one hour.
Remove extra oil by using tissue paper. If possible place your Rudraksha
in a small silver container or any other container on camphor granules. If you
are not using your Rudraksha regularly, then keep them in a transparent container
for its examination. Please do not wrap
them in plastic bags for a longer period.
Keep your malas hanging in airy place.You can protect your precious
Rudraksha for many years if proper care is taken.
